At Bhada Book, we understand the importance of financial privacy and discretion. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our digital record-keeping mobile application. It is designed in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 of India.

1. Core Privacy Philosophy: Private & Local Record-Keeping

Bhada Book is built on a privacy-first, offline-first architecture. Your rental ledgers, cash entry notes, and personal property logs are treated as your private assets. We do not monitor, monetize, sell, or report your ledger records to any third-party agencies, financial institutions, or government bodies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data required to deliver core application functionality:

• Account Information: Name, mobile number, or email address used during sign-up to manage your account status or optional subscriptions.
• User-Generated Ledger Data: Property names, rent figures, tenant names, utility bills, and entries created by you. This data is processed locally on your device or securely backed up to your personal private cloud backup (e.g., Google Drive) as configured by you.
• Device Permissions (Optional):
  • Storage/Gallery Access: To let you attach photos of sub-meter readings or digital agreement PDFs.
  • Contacts Access: Optional, strictly to let you select a tenant’s phone number to send manual WhatsApp payment reminders.
• Device Diagnostics: Phone model, OS version, and crash logs to optimize app performance on budget devices.

3. How We Use Information

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

• To store, render, and calculate your self-declared property ledgers on your screen.
• To generate shareable PDF receipts or pre-formatted WhatsApp reminders when you explicitly tap to initiate a message.
• To manage paid features, add-on services, or optional subscription tiers.

4. Non-Disclosure & Third-Party Sharing

• No Direct Financial Tracking: Because Bhada Book does not execute financial transactions, we do not hold or share bank account credentials, credit card details, or UPI transaction histories.
• No Data Sales: We do not sell, lease, or rent your personal data or property records to advertising networks, brokers, or data brokers.
• Legal Disclosure: We will only disclose personal data if required by a mandatory, lawful order under Indian court proceedings or explicit government authority summons.

5. Your Data Rights (DPDP Act, 2023 Compliance)

As an Indian user, you hold the following rights over your data:

• Right to Access & Correct: You can review, update, or edit any entry in your ledger directly in the App at any time.
• Right to Erasure (Data Wiping): You can delete properties, tenants, or your entire ledger history. Uninstalling the App or clearing local data permanently wipes offline records from your device.
• Right to Consent Withdrawal: You can stop using the App or revoke camera/contact permissions through your phone’s system settings at any time.
